#1: I am not currently in teaching role, but an experience I instantly thought
of was when I was teaching in South Korea. Using media (visual and/or auditory) in class or during a
presentation was an everyday expectation for the instructors as well as the
students. In class, we used the green screen to have students share stories and
act out lessons, we used a role call system that sent text messages to parents
when a student was tardy or absent. There were even interactive lesson plans,
fun tutorials, songs and games. Many days my students were teaching me how to
use the gear! They were great, extremely bright kids and really had fun and
looked forward to being in the classroom.
Some work-arounds or solutions I used
when the tech wasn’t quite working or when the tech wasn’t adequate to do what
you had originally planned, was I always turned to my students to come up with
solutions and ways to redirect and connect the lessons in a way that they still
felt involved and engaged. I was always impressed with creative solutions they
would come up with and how they seemed just as intrigued by the content and
almost craved a simple refresher and change in routine.
Sabrina, welcome to month 11. This blogger theme/layout is a bit confusing with the wider "favorites" section above your ongoing posts. Clicking on the blog entry titles also seems to link to the original assignment, which isn't so bad but a tad confusing. Just a heads up, no harm/no foul.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback. You are right, it was a bit confusing. I changed the layout. Let me know what you think :)
